The Romsey Show is a traditional country show where town and country meet, held on the second Saturday of September every year – this year: Saturday 9th September 2017.
The show is organised by the Romsey Agricultural & Horse Show Society and held on the magnificent and historic Broadlands Park. With a regular annual attendance of around 24,000 visitors, the show welcomes people of all ages and interests, from families to local businesses. There is something for everyone at Romsey show.
Each year the show has a wonderful turnout of cattle, sheep, horses and donkeys, totalling over 1,000 exhibitors. Other displays include the caged birds and fur and feather shows, whilst otters and water buffalo make up some of the more unusual animals on the showground.
There is a variety of interesting and unusual displays in the Countryside Area, from forestry and weaving to gun dogs and taxidermy. Visitors can learn more about the local area and are encouraged to join in with numerous activities including terrier racing, falconry and the family dog show.
Explore over five hundred trade stands, selling everything from clothes and rural crafts to garden furniture and tractors. There is something for every taste and budget. Our Food Zone is a must for food-lovers, offering locally sourced and produced food and drink, both savoury and sweet. The large picnic area (complete with bandstand) provides the perfect setting to relax and sample your purchases. The Food Zone also hosts a demonstration theatre with local chefs and businesses, bakery theatre and children can test out their cooking skills in the Kids Kitchen! This area is also home to the Honey and Wine marquee.
Join the crowd around our Presidents Ring, with a full programme of entertainment throughout the day. Whilst the main attractions vary each year, the popular Grand Parade of livestock, Vintage Machinery and Heavy Horse displays have been permanent features of the ring for over 70 years!
There is plenty else to see and do, for people of all ages – including have-a-go experiences, street entertainment, large bandstand featuring local silver and brass bands; ‘special events’ areas highlighting our theme of the year; and lots more.
We hope you enjoy looking around the website and learning more about the show and Society, and to welcoming you, your friends and family to the show in September!
